Suzanne Pankey was born and raised in the Midwest and went to college at Texas Christian University, majoring in education. She taught in Miami and Boca Raton for many years before dedicating her time fully toward raising her family. However real estate was never far from Suzanne’s mind as she has purchased and renovated four homes and built another. These experiences taught her what is alterable and inalterable about real estate and how to improve a property down to the finest detail.
Suzanne worked as bookkeeper part-time in commercial real estate while raising her family. Fifteen years ago, Martin County attracted her from Miami for its schools, community activities, pedestrian-friendly downtown areas, and, of course, the water. Her children are now in graduate school and she has entered real estate full-time as an agent with Premier Realty since 2016.
Buying a house is both exciting and stressful. An agent’s role is to harness the excitement into good decisions. Suzanne owned homes, but also has invested in them, and she brings both perspectives to working with clients. The mantra “location, location, location” is never far from her mind, but really it is about optimizing the location to the client’s ranked needs and finding the best fit in the market’s current offerings that is key. The buying relationship begins with interviews and assessment of the client, then looking at properties flows from the client’s unique needs.
Assisting buyers is only half of the job. Sales is the mirrored process of evaluating and buying real estate. In sales it is educating buyers and their agents about the advantages of a property, and being honest about its faults, that wins the day. Selling real estate is about effectively marketing the property in its best light. Listing a property spreads the word, and pictures can tell a flattering story, but these are not the reasons people buy a house. It is the intangibles that make a property awesome—how far is it to that school, the grocery, my church, are there others my age nearby, how will I spend my time, what does landscaping cost and will I be able to find vendors to help with improvements. More than anything, buyers want to reduce the unknowns, and Suzanne’s familiarity with the region and through her own stages of life can help them.
Whatever your goals, Suzanne will work to understand and attain them. Honest feedback and firm follow-up on negotiations and contracts helps Suzanne lead each of her clients on their unique purchasing or selling journey.
